- 1973 - Started sailing aged 10 and have been doing so regularly since then. 1982 - 1988 Merchant Navy Navigation Cadet to 2nd Mates Ticket Foreign going. Served as a Deck Officer on cargo vessels. 1988 - present Shore based Shipping Operations. 2004 - Awarded Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence. 2017 - Attended Small Vessel Surveying Course and passed qualifying examination. 2018 - Appointed as a Safety Officer by SA Sailing. 2019 - Appointed as a Small Vessel ( Pleasure ) Surveyor by SAMSA ( South African Maritime Safety Authority )
